THEY say some of the best things come in small packages — which couldn’t be more true for these beautiful miniature works of art.
Karen Libecap, an artist from Alabama in the U.S., specializes in unbelievably tiny paintings, with some so small they would fit on the face of a coin.
Describing her work as “tiny art, big ideas,” the painter painstakingly crafts a variety of perfectly detailed animals, landscapes and even Star Wars character Yoda to be sold to prospective buyers.
Her Instagram page reads: “I’m a tiny painter, painting for money. I’ll paint what you want me to paint.”
Karen often photographs her brilliant illustrations alongside her hands to provide some scale, with many intricately painted pieces appearing smaller than her thumbnail. And her talent is perhaps of little surprise — with 35 years of painting experience and a mother who was an oil painter.
She went on to become an art director in cities including Chicago and Columbus, Ohio and now also paints house renderings and portraits by day.
She said, “It’s my relaxing therapy away from the demands of the commission work.”
