    ‘Men in Black’ reboot

SCI-FI comedy “Men in Black” is returning with its own reboot, minus one major thing — its star, Will Smith.

Producer husband and wife Walter Parkes and Laurie MacDonald confirmed in an interview that Sony is working on the reboot, which interestingly, won’t be just one movie, but a full trilogy. Smith played a lead role alongside Tommy Lee Jones in the hit film which was released in 1997 with two further films released in 2002 and 2013. Both actors played government agents in charge of monitoring alien activity and ensuring civilians remained unaware of their presence.

    ‘Lost in Hong Kong’

CHINESE director Xu Zheng’s comedy film “Lost in Hong Kong” hit big screens in China on Friday.

By pulling in some 212 million yuan (about US$33 million), the film has set the record as the all-time top-grossing film for the opening day in China.

The latest in 33-year-old actor and director’s “Lost” franchise follows the story of a pair of strangers who bond after becoming involved in a series of stories in Hong Kong. Xu also performs the leading role in this film, along with the all-star cast, including award-winning actress Zhao Wei. Xu is preparing to shoot “Lost in India” this November.

    Chris Brown visa trouble

CHRIS BROWN’S plans to tour Down Under were in jeopardy yesterday after the Australian Government formally warned the troubled R&B singer that he is likely to be denied a visa because of his criminal conviction for assaulting Rihanna.

The immigration department issued Brown a notice of intention to consider refusal, giving him 28 days to present evidence as to why he should be allowed to enter the country. Britain, Canada and New Zealand have also refused to give Brown visas. (SD-Agencies)
