Teen takes rest on top of Russian skyscraper
     2015-October-12  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

THIS daredevil teenager really seems to have his head in the clouds as he appears to be taking a quick nap 156 meters up in the air.

Using no safety equipment, a mere piece of metal was all that was stopping 19-year-old Alexey Kuzin from plummeting towards the bustling city below.

Even higher up and — unlike his friend — with full awareness of the terrifying sights below, fearless student Alexander Voskresenksy stood taking pictures of his chilled out companion.

To capture these vertigo-inducing snaps, the daring duo climbed Moscow’s Kudrinskaya Square Building, part of the “Seven Sisters” skyscraper group, which is topped by a huge star — only accessible by climbing a rope.

Alexander, 23, took up the unusual hobby to see his hometown from a different perspective and to take stomach-churning shots of his friends.

Incredibly, Alexander used to be scared of heights but has ruthlessly conquered his fear by climbing buildings.

He said, “When I started, I was scared by heights. But you get used it if you do it enough.”

Apart from the sheer danger of the activity itself, there is also the added risk of getting caught. Alexander says he has been intercepted and handed over to police a couple of times.

Alexander said, “There were really wonderful views of the city from the top of Kudrinskaya Square Building. And climbing to the top was really thrilling.

“With new trips, I always like to challenge myself more. We entered the building at 3 a.m. and had to wait to take pictures at 5:40 a.m. for the light to be sufficient. We used ropes to climb the star. I damaged my jeans when I climbed down — but it was so worth it.

“There are some buildings which I haven’t yet climbed in Moscow and would love to but many of them are very hard to reach. The security measures are very tough there. We’ve been unlucky a couple of times recently when we tried to climb buildings and got caught and delivered to police.”(SD-Agencies)
