Chicken tweets its way to world record
     2015-October-15  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

A CHICKEN is attempting to make it into the Guinness Book for Records for its tweeting, rather than its clucking.

Using her beak and feet, Betty the chicken, from Perth, Western Australia, is hoping to be the first chicken to type out a single English word made up of four or more letters.

Starting Oct. 8, Betty has so far been unsuccessful in typing out a complete word, instead typing out random letters, numbers and symbols. Betty’s record attempt is part of a publicity campaign for fast food chain Chicken Treat.

As part of its rebranding, Chicken Treat, with stores in Western Australia and Central Queensland, is hoping the social media campaign, #chickentweet, will reach a younger market.

While some have responded humorously on twitter suggesting the chicken may have cracked math equations, others have voiced their concerns over the Betty’s treatment and welfare.

The chicken franchise has assured the campaign is RSPCA approved and that she is being taken care of.

Betty has until by the end of October to complete the record.
