    ‘Sherlock’

THE BBC confirmed Saturday that filming on a fourth series of the hit detective drama “Sherlock” will start in next spring. The modern-day update of Arthur Conan Doyle’s classic detective stories stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock Holmes and Martin Freeman as his stalwart companion, Dr. Watson. Since “Sherlock” first aired in 2010, Cumberbatch has become a global star, Academy Award-nominated for “The Imitation Game.”

    Simon Cowell back

SIMON COWELL is heading back in front of the cameras in the United States as a replacement for Howard Stern as a judge on NBC’s summertime series “America’s Got Talent” next season. The show remains one of the summer’s most popular programs even as ratings for other reality shows have faded. Cowell’s caustic style on Fox’s “American Idol” launched him to star status in the United States.

    Adele’s record

BRITISH singer Adele has been breaking records ever since her new video for “Hello” was released Friday. The video received over 23 million views in less than 24 hours, surpassing Taylor Swift’s record of 20.1 million views in 24 hours for “Bad Blood.” Adele’s new album “25” is slated for release Nov. 20.
