Dameisha kite festival

    The annual Shenzhen International Kite Festival will be held at Dameisha Beach on Saturday, attracting hundreds of kite enthusiasts from over 20 countries and regions to participate in the two-day event.

    This is the 10th edition of the Shenzhen International Kite Festival and a few of the kite masters who joined the pre-tournament activities at Mission Hills Centreville last weekend will be back for the Dameisha event.

    The world-famous kite masters who will attend include Dr. Hans P. Boeheme from Germany, vice president of the International Kite Federation; Craig Hansen Trevor from New Zealand, the first person to cross the Sahara Desert by kite buggy and holder of the kite buggy land speed world record; Shin Kunsoo, a traditional Korean kite master from South Korea; and Andreas Argen, an innovative kite master from Sweden and president of Asia Kite Forum. They demonstrated kite-flying techniques and interacted with visitors at Mission Hills Centreville last weekend.

    Dates: Oct. 31-Nov. 1

    Venue: Dameisha Beach, Yantian District (盐田区大梅沙)
