Pianist Chen Sa to grace Nanshan

    Chinese pianist Chen Sa will give a recital at the Nanshan Cultural and Sports Center.

    Chen earned critical acclaim at the International Chopin Piano Competition in 2000 and the 12th Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in 2005.

    Chen is a Steinway Artist. She has been nominated for the esteemed Tokyo series The 100 Greatest Pianists and as the cover artist of the launch issue of Gramophone magazine Chinese edition. In 2009, Chen was named by the French magazine L’OFFICIEL as one of the Top 10 Chinese Artists. In 2010, the Polish Government honored her with the Chopin Art Passport in appreciation of her unique interpretation of and achievements in Chopin’s music.

    Her latest album, “Memories Lost,” featuring modern Chinese compositions, was released worldwide by BIS Record in January 2015 and has been described as “the most interesting and successful recording of new Chinese music” by BBC Music Magazine.
