The Shenzhen International Marathon will be held Dec. 5 and will use a lottery system to fill spots. Runners can register at sz-marathon.com or through the WeChat “sz-marathon” before 5 p.m. Nov. 5.
The entry fees are 200 yuan per person for Chinese full-length runners, including mainland, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan residents, 150 yuan for half-length runners and 100 yuan for 6-kilometer runners. For foreign nationals, the fees are 220 yuan for full-length and half-length runners and 150 yuan for 6-kilometer runners.
The routes for full-length and half-length runners will start at the South Square of Shenzhen Civic Center. It will go westward onto Shennan Boulevard and turn south to the south of Shenzhen Bay Park along Shahe Road West. The route for half-marathon runners will end at Shenzhen Bay Sports Center. Full-length runners need to backtrack along the route and run eastward to Shenzhen Grand Theater before returning to the Civic Center.
The organizers will present the two overall winners with 190,000 yuan each, but the award will drop to 130,000 yuan if the winner fails to finish the race in two hours and 11 minutes in the men’s division or two hours and 30 minutes in the women’s division. Runners finishing in the top 10 of the full-length marathon will be awarded 2,000 yuan, for both men and women.(SD News)
