METRO lines 11 and 6, which are under construction, and the future Line 20 will connect with three Metro lines in neighboring Dongguan, according to a strategic framework agreement signed by the two cities yesterday.
The 37-kilometer Metro Line 6 runs from Shenzhen North Railway Station in Longghua New Area to Songgang in Bao’an District and will be connected with Dongguan’s Metro Line 1 at Lilin Station.
Line 6 has 20 stations and riders can reach Futian CBD through the Longhua Line (Line 4).
The Construction of the 45-kilometer Dongguan Line 1 will start in September 2016 and is scheduled to finish in 2022.
The 51-kilometer Line 11 in Shenzhen, which starts at Futian High-speed Railway Station and ends at the Shenzhen airport, will connect with Line 3 in Dongguan. Line 11 will open in June next year.
Metro Line 2 in Dongguan will open in May 2016. It will connect with Shenzhen’s future Line 20, which will begin at the Airport East Station of the Luobao Line (Line 1) and extend northwest to Shajing and Fuyong in Bao’an District.
Metro Line 10 in Shenzhen, linking Futian Checkpoint in Futian District and Pinghu in Longgang District, will be extended to Fenggang in Dongguan. Construction of the 29.9-kilometer line has started and will be completed in 2020.
The future Metro Line 13, linking Houhai in Nanshan District and Guangming New Area will also be extended to Songshan Lake and Guancheng in Dongguan.
Dongguan is planning a Metro network of four lines running 218 kilometers and covering 22 townships, sources from the Shenzhen Metro company said.
