Power consumption down 0.2% in Oct.
THE country’s power consumption fell 0.2 percent year on year in October to 449.1 billion kilowatt hours, the National Energy Administration said yesterday. Installed power generation capacity was up 9.5 percent at the end of October from a year earlier.
Govt. OKs US$5.24b railway project in Anhui
THE government has approved a 33.4 billion yuan (US$5.24 billion) railway project in central Anhui Province, the State planner said yesterday. The project will comprise several sections, one of which will be high-speed, the National Development and Reform Commission said in a statement on its website.
China, Turkey renew bilateral currency swap deal
CHINA and Turkey have renewed their bilateral local currency swap agreement for a further three years, and increased the swap line from 10 billion yuan to 12 billion yuan, the People’s Bank of China (PBOC) said yesterday. The pact could be extended in the future, based on mutual agreement.
Chinese express deliveries up by half
CHINESE courier firms delivered around 15.6 billion express packages in the first 10 months of 2015, 46 percent more than that in the same period of 2014, Ma Junsheng, the head of the State Post Bureau, said Friday.
