接地气

    jiēdìqì     

    Meaning: "接" means "connected with," "地" means "ground," and "气" means "energy." A figurative saying in colloquial Chinese, this term means "being able to resonate with common folks" or "realistic." This is often seen as a compliment for literary and art works, artists or officials.

    A: 你去中心公园看艺术装置展了吗？

    Nǐ qù zhōngxīn gōngyuán kàn yìshù zhuāngzhì zhǎn le ma?
