    Chen Danqing’s paintings

    Twenty pastel and oil paintings created by Chinese-American artist Chen Danqing are on display. Chen is also a writer and art critic. He was born in Shanghai in 1953 and graduated from the China Central Academy of Fine Arts. He moved to the United States in the 1980s.

    Spacefolk

    Local band Spacefolk will promote its debut album tomorrow night at Whatever Coffee. Supporting bands and musicians at the event are Fiendish Cannibals, Colin Phils and DJ Tayta.

    Spacefolk plays folk rock music to soothe your soul. Their songs range from the explosive edge of traditional rock to the end of a shoegazers galactic pedal universe. With an ever-evolving lineup headed by Charlie Utter, Spacefolk sounds like Jeff Tweedy from Wilco.

    Japanese post-rock band December will play at B10 Live. They have released two EPs, “Credo” and “Torso,” which attracted many fans.

    Liron Man

    Israeli musician Liron Man will play handpan at Old Heaven Bookstore. Handpan is a term for a group of musical instruments resulting from a growing worldwide interest in the Hang, an instrument invented and built by the company PANArt Hangbau AG.
