Baishizhou, Huanggang, Gangxia, Caiwuwei ... All of Shenzhen’s urban villages are like nails deeply stuck in the soil of the city, a living time capsule that stores histories, memories, tears and smiles. “PKN Villages” is a new PechaKucha Night series dedicated to Shenzhen’s urban villages.

    PechaKucha Night is a creative event that gathers people together to share ideas. Its special format is that each presenter can only present 20 images and speak for 20 minutes.

    With this new event, RIPTIDE wants to remind people that urban villages are more than a very special urban typology, they are part of Shenzhen’s identity and make the city more diverse and exciting every day.
