Retired official expelled from Party
     2015-November-27  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

A FORMER official with the Shenzhen Municipal People’s Congress has been expelled from the Party for abuse of power, maintaining an inappropriate relationship with a woman and having a secret son.

The retirement pension for Ye Zhixuan, a former official with the reception department of the general office of the city’s legislature, was lowered from the department-chief level to the section-chief level, the city’s Party discipline inspection commission said on its official website Wednesday.

An investigation found Ye violated Party discipline by taking cash gifts of 30,000 yuan (US$4,688) from his friends, abusing power by paying 14,000 yuan in public fund for accommodation for his relatives and having an extramarital relationship with a woman for several years.

Ye’s violations were exposed by his ex-wife, identified as Chen, in August who claimed to have a list of people who had bribed her ex-husband. She also said he kept several mistresses.

In a letter to the city’s Party discipline inspection commission, Chen claimed Ye, who often played mahjong during work time with his driver and friends, spent public money dining, drinking, gambling and on his mistresses.

Chen spoke out after losing contact with Ye after a quarrel in October 2014. Ye had promised to compensate Chen 500,000 yuan before the end of the year in their divorce agreement. Chen and Ye divorced for the second time in June 2014 after more than 30 years of marriage.

Chen divorced Ye twice because of his infidelity. They reunited the first time to raise the young child they had together. Ye also has a 12-year-old illegitimate child with a mistress, according to the investigation.

In May 2014, Chen ran into Ye’s third mistress, surnamed Wang, in Ye’s office. It led to Chen and Ye divorcing for the second time, but they continued to live together.

In August 2014, Wang came to Chen’s home, asking Ye to pay money for the child she had with Ye. Wang attempted to kill herself before Ye’s retirement in July last year.

In a phone interview with a newspaper, Chen said Ye got what he deserved. “If Ye couldn’t honor the divorce agreement, I would take him to court,” said Chen in a phone interview.

Separately, Huang Jiazhong, vice director of Shenzhen Notary Public Office, is being investigated over alleged violations of Party discipline and law, the city’s Party disciplinary inspection commission announced Wednesday. (Han Ximin)
