HONG KONG actress Nancy Wu has taken home the TV Queen award at the just concluded 2015 TVB Anniversary Awards.
Wu was awarded for her performance in the TV series “Ghost of Relativity.”
It is the first TVB best actress award for the 35-year-old actress since joining the TV station in 2001.
“I want to thank all of my partners, who helped me make a lot of progress along the way. Thanks to my fans and friends and my sisters. I will work even harder in the future.”
The TV King award went to veteran actor Anthony Wong Chau Sang for his role in the period drama “Lord of Shanghai.”
He gave a bittersweet speech on stage.
“There are rumors that I will throw out the trophies I win, but actually they are well stored in my house. I heard the trophy is made of real gold, I will preserve it in a locker. I remembered there were trophies in an auction in the past two weeks. I’m not happy. These trophies not only represent your efforts, but also other people’s. The trophies should be respected. All of us should fight to maintain our dignity.”
“Lord of Shanghai” was also awarded best TV drama of the year.
Bosco Wong and Linda Chung took home the awards for most popular TVB actor and actress on the Chinese mainland.
The TVB Anniversary Awards is an annual ceremony that honors the best in TVB television programming every year.
