Meaning:
Literally translated as “inner ghost,” the term refers to the perpetrators, spies or any kind of wrongdoers inside an organization. Because they work from inside, it’s usually rather difficult to discover their moves.
Example:
A: 谈判的时候,对方好像知道我们的底牌。
Tánpàn de shíhòu, duìfāng hǎoxiàng zhīdào wǒmen de dǐpái。
The other party seems to have known our bottom line during negotiation.
B: 那你们公司可能有内鬼,把消息透露给对方了。
Nà nǐmen gōngsī kěnéng yǒu nèiguǐ, bǎ xiāoxī tòulù gěi duìfāng le。
Then I guess there must be a mole in your company, who tipped off the other side about your plans.
