生白族
     2016-January-4  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

    Meaning:

“生” is short for “生活,” which means “life,” “白” is short for “白痴,” which means “idiot,” and “族” refers to a group of people sharing similarities. This term refers to young people who cannot handle their daily chores, such as washing clothes, cooking meals or even tying their shoe laces, because they have been spoiled by their over-protective and indulgent parents. Such people are called “idiots in life.”

    Example:

    A: 时间过得真快,你弟弟也去上大学了。

Shíjiān guò de zhēn kuài, nǐ dìdì yě qù shàng dàxué le。

Time flies, and now your younger brother goes to college.

    B: 是啊,他恨不得把我老妈一起带去学校,每周尽带脏衣服回家洗。

Shì a, tā hènbùdé bǎ wǒ lǎomā yīqǐ dàiqù xuéxiào, měizhōu jìn dài zāng yīfú huíjiā xǐ。

True. He wants to take my mom to campus with him. Each week he takes back dirty clothes to wash.

    A: 他是典型的生白族。

    Tā shì diǎnxíng de shēngbáizú。

He is a typical idiot in life.

    B: 都是我爸妈宠的。

    Dōushì wǒ bàmā chǒng de。

He is totally spoiled by my parents.
