   蜜运

    mìyùn

Meaning: "蜜" means "honey," and "运" is short for "运气," which means "luck." When a man and a woman are dating seriously and it is likely leading to a marriage, young people tend to say the duo are in "蜜运," or "struck by honey luck." This Chinese term is coined after the term "honeymoon" because of their causality and their similar pronunciation in Chinese.

    Example

    A: 小丽最近很开心啊,她遇到什么好事了?

Xiǎolì zuìjìn hěn kāixīn a, tā yùdào shénme hǎoshì le?

Xiaoli is in high spirits lately. What's up?

    B: 她正蜜运中,男方是科技公司高管。

Tā zhèng mìyùn zhōng, nánfāng shì kējì gōngsī gāoguǎn。

She is seriously dating a senior official of some high-tech firm.

    A: 她终于如愿以偿找到钻石王老五了。

Tā zhōngyú rúyuànyǐcháng zhǎodào zuànshí wánglǎowǔ le。

Finally she realizes her wish to find a rich successful Mr. Right.
