CHINESE pop star Lu Han, Disney’s “honorary Jedi” and brand ambassador for “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” in China, released a music video Thursday for “Inner Force,” the film’s official Chinese theme song.
The video features shots of the baby-faced 25-year-old star singing and dancing in an industrial warehouse, along with extensive footage taken straight from the film. It is all but certain to go viral in China, where Lu commands a massive online following (he has nearly 12 million followers on Weibo and holds the Guinness World Record for most comments on a single post).
Thanks to his boyish looks, messy mop of hair and legions of young female fans spanning Asia, Lu has often been described as “China’s answer to Justin Bieber.”
In March, Disney announced that he would be serving as an honorary member of the “Jedi Order” in China, appearing prominently in the studio’s local marketing campaign.
