    Big opening

DISNEY and Lucasfilm’s “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” made a stellar landing in China on Saturday, grossing an estimated US$33 million to score the biggest Saturday opening of all time for any film, according to preliminary results released by Disney.

It’s also the biggest opening day in history for the studio, as well as the second-biggest single-day gross of all time behind “Furious 7” (US$54.4 million), which debuted on a Sunday.

    Beyonce back to Super Bowl

PEPSI has confirmed that super diva Beyonce will make her return to the Super Bowl halftime show this year. The 34-year-old singer headlined the 2013 Pepsi Super Bowl halftime show, along with her Destiny Child’s colleagues Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland.

Last month, NFL official announced British rock band Coldplay will give their Super Bowl debut show Feb. 7 at Levi’s Stadium in California. Katy Perry, Bruno Mars, Madonna, U2, The Rolling Stones and Prince are among the headliners who performed in previous halftime shows.

    Singer died of IPAH

THE family of Natalie Cole released a statement to ET on Thursday, revealing the singer’s cause of death: idiopathic pulmonary arterial hypertension.

“This is a very serious and progressive disorder in which the small blood vessels of the lungs are markedly narrowed or obstructed,” the family’s statement read, adding that Cole had been diagnosed with IPAH five years ago after a successful kidney transplant.
