South Korean scientist invents ‘drunk robot’
     2016-January-12  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

THIS is Drinky — the shot-downing robot who’s the ideal companion for lonely drinkers.

The bionic boozehound will happily knock back gallons of the strong stuff — and won’t have to worry about a bad head in the morning.

South Korean inventor Eunchan Park came up with the artificially intelligent imbiber, who can also raise his glass for lusty cheers before downing a drink.

The automaton even glows red after enjoying a drink.

Park was inspired to invent his alcoholic android three years ago after spending a lonely Christmas drinking by himself.

He posted underneath his Youtube video: “This robot’s name is Drinky.

    “He drinks really well.

“On Christmas in 2012, I drank Soju (Korean alcohol) alone because I had no girl friend at that time.

    “Drinking alone was definitely terrible.

    “So I couldn’t drink anymore.

“Lastly, I put an extra glass in front of me and poured Soju into it.

“And then, I cheered by myself with the glass of Soju, as though there was someone in front of me.

“Surprisingly, after that, the taste became totally to be changed [SIC]. Wow.

“So, I could finally find the secret of taste of alcohol totally depends on existence of partner [SIC].

“This is why I made this robot.”

It comes after it emerged sex robots may actually be the biggest tech trend of 2016.

The popularity of the human-like machines has grown directly in tandem with their realism.

And not only will people be having intimate relations with them — they may even fall in love with them, too.

Dr. Helen Driscoll, a leading authority on the psychology of sex and relationships, said “sex tech” was already advancing at a fast pace.

Dr. Driscoll, from the University of Sunderland says that robotic, interactive, motion-sensing technology is likely to become more and more central to the sex industry in the next few years.(SD-Agencies)
