见光死
jiànguāngsǐ
Meaning: The term can be literally translated as "killed by light." It is used to describe the unfortunate outcome of the first date between two people who have fallen in love after chatting on the Internet and/or on the phone without meeting in person. The romantic bubble often bursts when the two meet face to face in real life as delusion is dispelled by reality.
Example
A: 你见到朝思暮想的美女了吗?
Nǐ jiàndào zhāosī mùxiǎng de měinǚ le ma?
Have you met the belle you've been missing for a while?
