Man claims rape threat led to murder
     2016-January-20  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

A MAN stood trial at Shenzhen Intermediate People’s Court on Monday for allegedly murdering a woman who had sex with him, the Southern Metropolis Daily reported yesterday. The man claimed the victim had demanded 50,000 yuan (US$7,692) from him and threatened to call the police and claim she was raped if he didn’t pay her.

The man, going by the alias Wang, allegedly murdered the woman and dumped her body in a waste yard in Longhua New Area on Dec. 8, 2014. Wang defended himself during the hearing, saying that he was blackmailed by the victim before he killed her in anger.

The 29-year-old defendant from ShaanxiProvince, who lived in Longhua New Area, was an employee at Shenzhen’s Foxconn plant. Wang said he met the victim through the social networking app Momo, and they met two or three times before the victim came to his apartment Dec. 8, 2014.

Wang said the victim had consensual sex with him, but later told him he had to pay 50,000 yuan or she would call the police and say she was raped.

Wang said he kneeled in front of the woman and begged her not to call the police. He added he was willing to give a few thousand yuan to the woman, but she slapped him. He wrestled with the woman and she bit him.

He then used exercise equipment to hit her in the head, leading to her death.

Later he hid her body in a piece of luggage and dumped it in the waste yard. The body was unrecognizable when it was discovered by two construction workers May 28 last year. Police detained Wang the same day after checking the victim’s phone and confirming he was the last person who saw her before she died.

Wang is charged with intentional homicide, but the prosecutor said Wang fought with the victim because she had demanded money after sex. The hearing of the case continues.
