A night of Chinese pop
     2016-January-22  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

Taiwanese singer Jam Hsiao will collaborate with mainland duo Yu Quan, Hong Kong bass guitarist Wong Ka-keung and Taiwanese singer Dave Wong for a show Saturday night at Shenzhen Stadium.

Yu Quan is a soft rock duet consisting of Chen Yufan and Hu Haiquan. In 2013, the duo competed in the first season of Chinese reality TV show “I Am a Singer” and won the competition.

Wong Ka-keung is a Hong Kong musician, best known as the bass guitarist for the rock band Beyond. Wong formed a new band called Picasso Horses since the disbanding of Beyond in 2005.

Dave Wong’s music and lyrics can be described as being melancholy and haunting in a blend of rock ballads and blues.

Hsiao’s diverse music genres and charisma quickly captured the attention of the Taiwanese music industry. His deep, clear voice stands him out from most singers. Hsiao’s performance for songs of other genres is just as impressive — including pop, jazz, R&B and country.
