Dog waits weeks for his murdered owner
     2016-February-25  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

A GERMAN Shepard waited for weeks outside the Texas home of his murdered owner.

Hatem Abuharbid, 54, was shot to death at the Kay-B convenience store where he worked in Houston, Texas during a robbery Feb. 7.

Neighbors saw his dog dolefully standing guard in front of Abuharbid’s home, helplessly awaiting his return.

“You could just tell that he was a lost dog,” neighbor Cassandra Eubanks told KTRK.

“He would follow the cars and when he would realize that it was not his owner’s car, he would just stand there and look helpless,” she added.

Surveillance footage from the alleged robbery shows two armed men in masks rummaging through the drawers at the convenience store.

Abuharbid was shot in the thigh and the bullet cut through an artery in his leg. He died in the hospital shortly after.

Abuharbid’s dog, who had no way of knowing what happened to his owner, would not go near any of the other residents at his apartment complex who tried to help him.
