Shenzhen border police escort crew members off a foreign-registered freight ship, who were suspectedly involved in smuggling frozen meat, in this photo released Thursday. Some 2,219 tons of frozen beef, pork and chicken in 71 containers worth 200 million yuan (US$31.7 million), which were imported from the United States and Europe, were seized on the ship near the waters off Shenzhen at the end of last month, the border police authorities announced Thursday. Twenty suspects were nabbed, including seven Chinese nationals and 13 foreigners. It is the largest frozen meat smuggling case in terms of market value in China in 10 years.Xinhua
