WU SONG, the 29-year-old deputy head of Luohu District People’s Hospital, was on the Forbes’ “30 Under 30 Asia” list, the Shenzhen Evening News reported yesterday. Along with 29 other young elites, Wu was ranked in the “Health Care and Science” category.
Released Feb. 25, the annual list selected 30 promising young people from 10 different fields, including health care, finance, arts and media. Along with Wu, six other young Chinese were selected in the health-care category. The category’s 30 young people come from China, Vietnam, Indonesia, India, Singapore, Japan, the Philippines and Australia.
Born in 1986, Wu is the deputy head of Luohu District People’s Hospital and head of the Zhongxun Precision Medical Research Center in Shenzhen. Mainly focusing on studying urinary tract cancer, he is also the assistant researcher at the genome study center of Washington University.
Wu has published 29 papers as first author in renowned academic magazines like “Nature Genetics” and “European Urology.” He is also a reviewer for “European Urology” and 11 other magazines. His papers have reportedly been cited by others more than 500 times. Wu holds three patents.
