Mystery girl taken to hospital
     2016-March-24  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

AN apparently mentally ill 18-year-old girl was turned over to the police by a bus driver Tuesday. The girl, Li Xue, boarded the M447 bus, didn’t pay for a ticket and wouldn’t tell anyone who she was or what she was doing.

She rode the bus in silence from Futian District to Pingshan New Area.

The bus driver noticed Li “acting abnormal” and he decided to bring her to the terminal station in Pingshan New Area to find her family. Li ate but refused to tell anyone her name or where she was from.

Police were called after bus employees failed to get information from Li.

According to the police, the girl was born in December of 1998 and comes from Yongzhou in Hunan Province.

The girl is the only family member shown in her household registration booklet (hukou) and the police cannot find any information about the girl’s family.

Li is thought to suffer from mental health issues and was only heard speaking incoherently.

Police transferred the girl to a mental hospital. The hospital will treat her before transferring her to an aid center that will then try to send her back to the address on her hukou.
