Keaton, Elba, McKinnon join ‘Finding Dory’ voice cast
     2016-April-1  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

DIANE KEATON, Idris Elba, Eugene Levy and Kate McKinnon are among the crop of newcomers lending their voices to Disney/Pixar’s “Finding Dory,” the sequel to “Finding Nemo.”

Ellen DeGeneres and Albert Brooks are back as Dory, the short-term memory-challenged blue tang, and Marlin, the clownfish father of Nemo, respectively.

Andrew Stanton is directing the feature, which focuses on Dory’s search for her family, with Marlin and Nemo on the journey to help. Stanton is also doing voicework, returning as cool turtle Crush, while Bob Peterson is back as Mr. Ray, the teacher of the reef.

Keaton and Levy are playing Dory’s parents. Elba is voicing a lazy sea lion. McKinnon is to make a cameo appearance as a fish that Dory meets on her journey.

“It really is a whole new chapter this time,” Stanton said Wednesday in a statement. “We’re introducing new characters — each with his or her own unique voice. Everyone has something special to offer, which makes it fun and elevates the whole story. ‘Finding Nemo’ was a great calling card when it came to casting this movie. I don’t take that for granted.”

“Finding Dory” is swimming toward a June 17 release.(SD-Agencies)
