THE Australian model who was born with both a penis and a vagina has removed a Go Fund Me page after asking the public to help fund her dreams of turning her body from a “horror story” into something “normal.”

    “I’ve taken down my Go Fund Me campaign and refunded everyone as I thought it would be greater for me if I raised the funds through my modeling work,” Sophia Young told news.com.au.

    “Thank you everyone the support and donations but I thought it would be lazy if I didn’t work for it.”

    Young was brought up as a girl in the regional New South Wales city of Wagga Wagga when at the age of 8, she started to show more male physical traits, her parents switched her to a boy and she spent her teen years as such until she realized she was more woman as she progressed through puberty.

    According to Young, when she was born in Nowra, on the south coast of New South Wales, doctors didn’t notice her condition “on the outside” until X-rays spotted her ovaries had settled in a strange position.

    “My body is a horror story,” Young said.

    “At birth it didn’t look obvious, it just looked like a normal vagina.

    “As I got older it became more ambiguous. They [sex organs] both developed. When puberty hit, the penis got so big, I didn’t look like a chick so they raised me as a boy.”

    “I was being teased a lot at school and my parents changed my name to Harrison. Right now I’m in the courts to change my name back.”

    Young, 22, says she doesn’t “want to feel like I’m a freak,” and set up a Go Fund Me page in the hopes to raise US$10,000 for corrective surgery overseas and realize her dreams to become a fulltime model.

    “I just want to be normal, I want to go out in public and look normal and have a lady in the shop ask, ‘Can I help you today ma’am?’

    “I don’t want to dress up as a dude. I don’t want to feel like I’m a freak.”

    She said she was born with a uterus and ovaries but wants the male parts cut out in an effort to “make the outside look as normal as possible.”(SD-Agencies)
