FAIR HAS 700 VACANCIES FOR EXPATS

    A JOB fair for foreign jobseekers, a sideline event of the 14th Conference on International Exchange of Professionals (CIEP), will be held at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center in Futian District on Saturday and Sunday.

    More than 50 employers are trying to fill more than 700 vacancies for foreign jobseekers at the fair in Hall 5, with an exhibition area of 1,000 square meters, according to the organizers, the Foreign Talents Information Research Center under the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs and ChinaJob.com.

    The employers include universities, research institutes and training centers. Fifteen percent of them are non-education enterprises, according to Liang Ran with the Foreign Talents Information Research Center.

    Some employers require jobseekers to be multilingual. Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree or above.

    China Central Television, China Radio International are hiring. The Foshan Municipal Government in Guangdong Province, the Anhui Provincial Administration of Foreign Expert Affairs, and the Rizhao Municipal Foreign Experts Bureau in Shandong Province are also looking for foreign talent.

    Hainan airlines will also attend.

    Most of the institutes signing for the fair are located in Shenzhen, Guangzhou and other Pearl River Delta cities. Training centers and schools represent most of the groups looking to hire.

    The Shenzhen-based English First Training Center, Shenzhen International Foundation College and Shenzhen Yaohua Experimental School are among the employers looking for talent.

    The Guangdong University of Technology and other universities will be recruiting teachers.

    Since 2005, the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs has held the job fair in cities across China, including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Nanjing and Hangzhou.

    With an exhibition areas of 65,000 square meters, filling Halls 1 to 5 at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center, this year’s CIEP is expected to attract 12,000 overseas visitors and 4,500 participants, including international companies, foreign expert agencies, research institutes, education institutions and human resources agencies, from 70 countries and regions.

    The two-day event will include 16 themed exhibition areas, which will showcase China’s latest achievements attracting talent. The event will promote exchanges through matchmaking meetings for enterprises and potential employees.

    More than 600 Chinese who studied abroad will bring their high-tech projects to the fair.
