TV Guide for April 12
     2016-April-12  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

    Rescue Dawn

    10:55 p.m. on HBO

It’s 1965, an American pilot on a top-secret bombing mission is shot down over Laos and taken to a prison camp deep in the jungle of Vietnam. What follows is one of the most remarkable and harrowing experiences of the Vietnam War. Inspired by the true story of Dieter Dengler, “Rescue Dawn” is an uncanny tale of camaraderie and betrayal, courage in the face of despair, and triumph over tragedy. It stands as a true testament to the boundaries of the human condition and the invincibility of the American spirit.

    Black Sea

    9 p.m. on HBO

“Black Sea” centers on a rogue submarine captain who pulls together a misfit crew to go after a sunken treasure rumored to be lost in the depths of the Black Sea. As greed and desperation take control onboard their claustrophobic vessel, the increasing uncertainty of the mission causes the men to turn on each other to fight for their own survival.

    My Sister's Keeper

    5:20 p.m. on HBO

Kate is diagnosed with a fatal form of leukaemia. In a desperate bid to save the love of her life, her mother bears another daughter, Anna, specially conceived and implanted to be an ideal donor for her older sister. Eleven years later, Anna has undergone countless invasive procedures, blood donations, bone marrow donations, and her sister now needs a kidney. Is it right for a mother to ask one daughter to sacrifice so much for another? Should a child be able to decide for herself how much she will sacrifice for her sister?
