THE head of the security department of a housing estate’s former management company stood trial for illegal entry in Nanshan District People’s Court on April 7, the Southern Metropolis Daily reported. The manager, Fu Wen, said he was innocent.
Fu’s management company used to be responsible for providing services at Keyuan Garden in Nanshan District. The company was fired by the property owners’ committee of the estate last year.
At the trial, the procuratorate said that in late October last year, the car and apartment owned by Chen Jianping, deputy director of the property owners’ committee, were vandalized with paint. It led to an unidentified netizen writing an online post entitled “The violence Keyuan Garden’s management company committed against its property owners’ committee director.”
On the afternoon of Oct. 30 last year, Chen’s apartment door had glue put on it. Chen then invited a Daily reporter and a few members of the committee to his apartment for an interview.
According to the procuratorate, Fu saw the post online and believed his company was being misrepresented.
Fu saw Chen’s door was open and entered Chen’s apartment with six security guards without Fu’s permission, before demanding Chen delete the online post.
“This is my place. Why did you come in?” Chen said before calling the police.
Fu was asked to leave, but he called for more security guards to come. Fu had a minor scuffle with a resident called Chen Xiaotao during that time.
When police arrived they took Fu and Chen Xiaotao back to the local police station for mediation.
The Nanshan District People’s Procuratorate said Fu violated the national criminal law on illegal entry.
During the trial, Fu said he did not break in. Fu said he was trying to discuss the online post with Chen, and Chen did not ask him to leave. Fu said the director of the property owners’ committee, Xi Houfang, even greeted him.
Fu also said he can enter a resident’s house without permission.
Fu admitted he said “I will make those who caused me to lose my job suffer” and “If you don’t give me an explanation, I won’t leave” at Chen’s.
Many Keyuan Garden property owners and directors of the property owners’ committee of many other housing estates attended the trial in support of Chen. The ruling was not announced at the trial.
