SEVEN job fairs offering 35,000 vacancies for professionals in different sectors will be held during the 14th Conference on International Exchange of Professionals (CIEP) at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center in Futian CBD on Saturday and Sunday.

The job fairs target fresh college graduates, foreigners and returned overseas students. Professionals in Internet, software and information technology sectors are in hot demand, the fair organizer said.

The city’s 26 public institutions will recruit 389 employees. The institutions include the Management Center of the Shenzhen Municipal Public Works Bureau, the service center of the Shenzhen Municipal Meteorological Observatory, Shenzhen-BIT-Moscow University, Shenzhen Polytechnic, public schools in Luohu District, and hospitals in Nanshan, Longgang and Longhua.

Some State-owned enterprises, including the Shenzhen Airport Shareholding Co., Shenzhen Special Economic Zone Construction and Development Co., and the Yantian Port Group will also attend the fair.

Around 12,000 professional visitors from overseas will attend the conference.

A highlight of the event, the China (Shenzhen) Innovation Competition of International Talents will offer US$880,000 in awards to the winning pro-ject of 25 competing teams selected from five preliminaries in Sydney in Australia, Munich in Germany, Tel Aviv in Israel, Tokyo in Japan and Silicon Valley in the United States.

CIEP, which has been organized by the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs since 2001, is the only State-level international and comprehensive talent exchange fair in China, serving foreign expert organizations and training institutions.

Shenzhen has been hosting the annual event since 2007.
