WHO steals the show and what is the hottest item? Every year it’s the same question and this year is no exception.
Smart products and virtual reality (VR) glasses once again attracted the eyes of visitors on the opening day of the China (Shenzhen) International Gifts, Handicrafts, Watches & Houseware Fair at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center in Futian District yesterday.
The halls at the center were crowded with visitors and buyers despite it being a work day.
In Hall 4, the original design exhibition hall, employees with Shenzhen Dlodlo Technologies Co. Ltd. were busy explaining their company’s VR glasses and VR helmet.
By putting on VR glasses, which seem no different than a regular pair of glasses, visitors can explore a VR world. The glasses are wirelessly connected to the Dlodlo App Store that contains exclusive content and applications. The glasses work with PC games and Android apps.
“These glasses could be used in education, entertainment, medical treatment and urban management, and even used for users to experience virtual online shopping in the future,” Zeng Mingzhang, a marketing manager with Shenzhen Dlodlo Technologies Co. Ltd., said yesterday.
The Dlodlo Helmet, which is compatible with both Android and Apple’s operating systems, connects to a user’s phone to provide a virtual reality experience.
Also in Hall 4, visitors lined up for a chance to win a skin moisture detector made by the Shenzhen Mili Digital Co. Ltd.
The company presented three new smart products: the Mili iData, a smart flash drive for iPhones; the Mili Skinmate, a smart UV detector; and the Mili Pure, a smart skin moisture detector.
“These three smart items fit easily into a wallet and are closely related to the user’s daily life,” said Blues Xiao, sales executive with the gift department of Shenzhen Mili Digital Co. Ltd.
Mili received many inquiries about its innovative smart products since the opening yesterday. The Mili iData can expand the storage capacity of iPhones and iPads when they run out of storage.
“Smart technology changes lives and with the increased popularity and application of high-end smart technologies, smart devices are being gradually integrated into our everyday lives. We hope our products can fully meet users’ demand to make smart technologies accessible to everyone,” Xiao said.
Among the crowd of buyers, Mohamed Hassan, vice chairman of the Premi Advertising Agency in Egypt, said April is always a busy month for him because he and his colleagues have to attend the gift fair in Shenzhen and the Canton Fair in Guangzhou to source products for customers.
“I’ve come to Shenzhen every year in the past 10 years for the gift fair to meet with sellers and select products for customers back in my country,” said Hassan.
“We are collect information and discuss with sellers at the fair, then we will contact and negotiate with them after we have decided on the items we are interested in,” Hassan said.
Another buyer, Kashif Swd, from an import company in Pakistan said he comes to the fair every year for business opportunities.
“The fair is a source market for our procurement, we will introduce the products to customers in Pakistan,” said Swd. For this trip, Swd is interested in glasses and cups with functions such as cooling down hot water quickly.
“This hand-held juice making cup is very innovative, and this bottle, which can hold a mobile phone in a gap between water on both sides is very convenient for outdoor runners,” said Swd.
Covering an area of 115,000 square meters and having 3,600 exhibitors from a wide range of sectors, the fair runs until Thursday and offers the widest selection of business gifts and consumer products,
The fair, said to be the biggest of its kind in China, is held every April and October in Shenzhen.
