Shenzhen’s first motorcycle traffic police force at a launch ceremony at the Shenzhen Civic Center in Futian District yesterday. After a month of training, 140 traffic police officers riding state-of-the-art motorcycles began patrols in most districts of the city yesterday. A team of 30 motorcycle officers, who went on the road in a trial practice last month, have so far handled over 170 traffic violations and responded to 912 accidents and incidents of traffic congestion in the city. The force helped shorten the time spent handling traffic cases. The number of motorcycle police will increase to 300 by July this year.Sun Yuchen
