Exhibitions featuring photographs by late Chinese photographer Hou Dengke (1950-2003) are being held at the Guan Shanyue Art Museum and Yuezhong Museum of Historical Images.
Born in a village in Northwest China’s Shaanxi Province, Hou was a worker and later an official for a railway company. He held his first photo exhibition in 1982. Villages and migrant workers are the themes of his black-and-white photography, recording social changes in modern China.
