New Metro map unveiled

    THE Shenzhen Metro Group released a new Metro map including Metro lines 7, 9 and 11.

    Metro Line 11, also known as the airport express line, will be put into operation at the end of June. The trip from Futian CBD to Shenzhen International Airport will be cut to 30 minutes. The whole line will have 18 stations with 10 interchange stations, five of which will be put into operation at the end of the year when Metro lines 7 and 9 are put into service.

    Passengers can change to Shekou Line and Longgang Line at Futian Station and to Lines 7 and 9 at Chegongmiao Station. It takes about 20 seconds to change to Line 9 at Hongshuwan South Station, but about six minutes to change to Shekou Line at Houhai Station as riders have to walk about 300 meters.

    Riders can also change to Luobao Line and Huanzhong Line at Qianhaiwan Station.

    The 51.9-kilometer line links 18 residential, commercial and office areas including Futian CBD, Chegongmiao, OCT Bay, Shenzhen Bay Super Headquarters Base, Houhai, Nanshan CBD and Qianhai.

    Metro Line 7 will have 28 stations and 13 interchange stations along its 30-km route from Lishui Road in Xili, Nanshan District, to Taian Road in Luohu District. Passengers can change to Shekou Line at Antuoshan Station and change to Luobao Line and Shekou Line at Huaqiangbei Station.

    Line 9, which covers Nanshan, Futian and Luohu districts, starts from Hongshuwan in Nanshan and ends in Wenjin in Luohu. The 25-km route will have 22 stations including 10 interchange stations and goes past OCT Bay, Yinhu Bus Terminal and Wenjindu Checkpoint.
