The Shenzhen Museum’s Civic Center outlet is holding free activities for children to mark International Museum Day, a celebration that is held every year around May 18. It serves to raise public awareness on the role museums play in the development of society today on an international level.
Han Dynasty-style clothing appreciation
Visitors are invited to enjoy the beauty of Han Dynasty-style clothes and try them on at the event. Attendees should sign up at Shenzhen Museum’s WeChat (iszbwg).
The event is part of the ongoing Han Dynasty relics exhibition at the museum. The relics are on loan from six museums in Sichuan Province, featuring a spectacular selection of tomb tiles, bronze ware and pottery figurines.

Archaeology workshop
Children age 6 and up can sign up at Shenzhen Museum’s WeChat (iszbwg) to attend the workshop to learn about the technical aspects of archaeology, including material analysis and proper documentation procedures.

Historical treasure
evaluation
Historical treasure experts and archaeologists will give free evaluation for historical Chinese treasure holders. The entry is free. No need to sign up in advance.

Two exhibitions
Glass pieces on loan from the Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague and cultural relics on loan from Sichuan are on display at the museum. The glass show offers a thoughtful, expressive, and utterly breathtaking exploration of glassmaking in Europe from the 4th century B.C. to the present day.
