30-year-old cat named world’s oldest by Guinness
     2016-May-12  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

THE record for oldest living cat is now held by a 30-year-old Texas feline named Scooter, according to Guinness World Records.

The Siamese cat’s feat was revealed in a Tuesday release from the company.

Scooter, who hails from Mansfield, smashed the record that had been held by Corduroy, a 26-year-old cat from Sisters, Oregon, Guinness said.

The new record-holder’s birth took place March 26, 1986 — when Ronald Reagan was still president of the United States.

Scooter likes the simple things in life —snacking on chicken and receiving a blow-dry following a bath, according to Guinness.

The company said, “Born March 26, 1986, Scooter lives with his owner Gail Floyd, who was there the day the kitten was born, and he’s been right by her side ever since.”(SD-Agencies)
