Two workshops

    Chaihuo Maker Space will organize two workshops Sunday. At the concrete workshop, attendees will learn how to make a flower pot with concrete, while at the Crazy Caterpillar workshop, they will learn laser cutting and infrared remote control receiver. Materials will be provided. The Crazy Caterpillar workshop attendees should bring their own laptops.

    The Real Deal

    Mickey Zhang, one of China’s most prominent DJs, who recently performed at the Boiler Room, and Lukas from Push, as well as local DJs, Nimbus and mAnTiS, will play for the Real Deal party.

    At the party, girls will be given locks and guys will be given keys. Only five keys will open five of the locks. Guys and girls must socialize to try to find the correct keys. Win prizes such as Western food and alcohol.

    Seas of Years

    Seas of Years, a post rock band from Stockholm, Sweden, will perform Saturday. The band was formed around mid-summer 2012 with the intention of writing instrumental post rock. They are touring in China promoting their new album “The Ever Shifting Fields.”

    Photos of old Shenzhen

    Photos taken in the 1960s to 1980s by local photographers are on display at Se Artspace in OCT-LOFT. The photos reflect the lives of migrant workers and farmers in the early period of reform and opening up in Shenzhen. Entry is free.
