    CHEN XIANGBO and Wen Zhenfei, two painters from the Guan Shanyue Art Museum (GSAM) are displaying 40 works at a joint exhibition, “East Visits West,” at the Gunnar Nordstrom Gallery in Bellevue, Washington until March 6.

    Now working as curator at GSAM, Chen has been trying to create a dreamlike art style in his bird and flower paintings over the past two decades.

    All elements in his works, such as lotus flowers, rocks, banyan trees, swimming fish, and white egrets, are put together to create his own world of fantasy.

    Chen’s style is not only traditional in form, but all his works are about the Orient where nature, life, air and space take their place in traditional compositions and delicately executed on paper.

    Chen has many works included in important national and international exhibitions and has won many awards during his professional career.
